Garlic Shrimp recipe
This garlic shrimp sautéed with lemon zest, parsley, and Creole seasoning is quick, tasty, and filling. It has won a regular place in nightly rotations. You may even use the buttery garlic pan sauce as a bread dip.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 ½ tablespoons olive
oil
- 1 pound shrimp, peeled
and deveined
- salt to taste
- 6 cloves garlic,
finely minced
- ¼ teaspoon red pepper
flakes
- 3 tablespoons lemon
juice
- 1 tablespoon caper
brine
- 2 tablespoons cold
butter, cut into 4 equal pieces, divided
- ⅓ cup chopped
flat-leaf parsley, divided
- 1 teaspoon water, or
as needed
DIRECTIONS
STEP1
Collect all of the ingredients.
STEP2
In a big skillet, heat the olive oil over high heat until it just starts to smoke. Arrange the shrimp evenly on the pan's bottom and cook for one minute without stirring.
STEP3
Add salt to the shrimp and cook, stirring, until the shrimp start to turn pink, about 1 minute.
STEP4
Add garlic and red pepper flakes; cook
and stir for 1 minute.
STEP5
Add half of the parsley, lemon juice, caper brine, and one piece of butter; cook for approximately one minute, or until the butter has melted.
STEP6
Stir in the remaining three pieces of butter and lower the heat to low. Cook and stir for 2 to 3 minutes, or until the shrimp are opaque and pink, the sauce is thick, and the butter has melted.
STEP7
Remove the shrimp using a slotted spoon and transfer them to a bowl. If the butter sauce gets too thick, add water a teaspoon at a time and cook for another two minutes or longer.
STEP8
Add salt to taste and serve the shrimp with the pan sauce and the remaining parsley on top.
Have fun!
